In 2019, Paxton was diagnosed with a metastatic anaplastic medulloblastoma, an extremely aggressive form of brain cancer. He was just 3 years old and was brave and strong as he underwent six months of treatment. Paxton got to ring the bell indicating he was done with treatment and cancer-free.

Paxton loved life, being happy, and making people laugh.

At Paxton’s three-month post-treatment scans, his family and care team were devastated to learn the cancer had returned and spread throughout his brain.

Because of his age and the type of tumor, there were no treatment options available. Paxton and his family took a Make-A-Wish trip and then he began maintenance chemotherapy. Paxton’s tumor grew quickly over the next month and he laid down his sword shortly thereafter.

On January 15, 2020, Paxton gained his angel wings.

A note from Paxton’s mom, Jackie:

Paxton gained his angel wings and is flying high in the sky. Even on the darkest days, Paxton was able to bring us so much light. We are so thankful to have learned so much from Paxton about truly living your best life for every second you have of it. In special ways, Paxton closed so many chapters with each of us. He was ready to rest and ready to fly.

One thing Paxton mentioned several months ago was “One day, I am going to get a set of wings and fly to the top of the rainbows and find the pot of gold at the bottom.” So anytime you see a rainbow, know that Paxton is there looking at the pot of gold. 🌈💔🎗

Paxton’s tumor was donated to the Morgan Adams Foundation Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado / the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to further research into medulloblastoma and new treatments for pediatric cancer.
