The Realities of Childhood Cancer

A cancer diagnosis turns a family’s entire world upside down. What once was normal — the everyday routines of school, work, household chores, sports, and time with friends and family — go out the window when survival becomes the only focus. Each family’s story of how their child’s cancer was ultimately discovered is different, but they are all fraught with confusion and frustration – led by the overarching questions of “what is wrong with my child?” And yet,  nothing ever prepares a parent to hear the words “your child has cancer.”
