Tayler

In March 2010, Tayler completed treatment.

In November 2008, Tayler suddenly went into seizures and had to be transported to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at The Children's Hospital. A small mass was found in the right temporal lobe of her brain, however it was unclear just what it was so Tayler was scheduled for a follow up MRI 6 weeks later.

In December 2008, just days after her 4th birthday, the MRI revealed that the mass had grown substantially. She immediately underwent two surgeries, both performed by Dr. Michael Handler, to completely remove the tumor. Tayler was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme, a highly aggressive malignant brain tumor. In January 2009, Tayler began chemotherapy and radiation under the direction of Dr. Nick Foreman and Dr. Meg Macy.

Although she was actively undergoing treatment, the tumor returned in February 2009. The news was devastating. Dr. Foreman and Dr. Macy suggested trying a chemotherapy regimen typically used for a different type of brain tumor. After a 3rd brain surgery to remove the mass once more, Tayler began the new, very intense, treatment regimen. Although the treatment was extremely hard on her, the MRI's kept coming back clear so we pressed forward. In March 2010, Tayler completed treatment.

Tayler now has MRI's every three months and to date all have shown no signs of the tumor returning thanks to the neuro-oncology team at The Children's Hospital.
Tayler just started kindergarten and is ready to concur the world!

Thank you
