ARTMA 2012: Do You Have Your Tickets?

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Every two years, The Morgan Adams Foundation hosts an art show above all other art shows for the Front Range community. If you live in Denver, Boulder of Colorado Springs and have never attended an ARTMA event, we thought we'd put together a primer that will teach you about an unforgettable evening - and one that makes incredible strides to fight the fight against pediatric cancer.

What is ARTMA?

It's such a special event that we've built a website dedicated to the evening and the generous artists who make it possible (visit the ARTMA website). In short, it's a funky and fabulous evening of art auctions complemented by food tastings from local restaurants and a cocktail here and there. Whether you're an avid follower of the art world or just want to mingle in a studio space filled with people you'd love to meet, ARTMA just might be where you want to be on February 11th!

How do the auctions work?

When you walk into the Denver Studio Complex, you'll check in with your tickets (or buy them at the door - but we don't recommend this as we sell out every year!) and you'll be given a catalog of the art pieces and a bid number. Then - it's time to feel the buzz of the most incredible art event you've ever attended!

The studio complex will be filled with silent auction art galleries. You can peruse the art at your leisure and write-in bids using your bid number on pieces you fancy. The silent auction art galleries close at posted times, so you can find out if you've won what you've had your eye on when the gallery is closed off. The ARTMA staff will then deliver the art in the gallery to our team of volunteers, who will treat the art with TLC, wrapping it for transport. When the event is over or when you depart should it be earlier, you can pick up your pieces right where you checked in when you arrived!

The event culminates with a live auction of the most valuable pieces donated to the evening's event. Our auctioneer will guide the audience through piece by piece, and you can bid or watch the live bidding action unfold before your eyes. It's a lively time!

But is the art at the auction affordable?

Indeed. Our artists donate pieces of every shape, size, and scale. We have pieces that will be available for every budget and taste - don't you worry.

What do the proceeds from ARTMA help fund?

The Morgan Adams Foundation is committed to raising money to fund pediatric cancer research. That's what we do - that's ALL we do. The proceeds from the evening - your generosity - will go to helping us fund clinical trials that work towards putting a cure in place so that the children of the future will never have to hear the words, "We just don't have a cure for that right now." You can learn more about the kids affected by MAF's work here

How do I get tickets?

That's easy! You can buy them online - but act fast. We know many events SAY they sell out every year, but we really do. We've filled the Denver Studio Complex time and time again, and we hope you'll join us on February 11 for an evening you'll never forget benefiting a wonderful cause - and your art collection!

Record-Breaking at Concours 2011 and Friday Night Fights, Round II!

Monday, October 03, 2011

morgan adams concours 2011If you joined us on August 27, you were in great company along with over 1,300 other supporters of The Morgan Adams Foundation at our annual Concours d’Elegance event! Thanks to our incredibly generous exhibitors (see the event catalog for a complete list) and our brilliant sponsors Newmont Mining, Chubb, Decon Labs, Inc. and an additional list you’ll find below, we produced one of  the largest Concours to-date and are completely astounded by your participation and generosity.  Curious how we fared? Keep reading and be amazed!

Chip Auction Results

Each year, we hold a chip auction to raise funds to purchase microchips that can help oncologists differentiate cancers down to the genetic level. These chips are helping pediatric cancer patients receive highly customized treatment protocols and improve the success of those treatments. In the long term, that means fewer kids lost to cancer and better treatments from the get-go for these amazing kids when they need them most.

You stepped to the plate in an awe-inspiring fashion this year, and to-date, donations from the chip auction funded over 1,000 chips (total accounted for raise at present is $103,500 with a cost of $1,000 per microchip). On top of it all, the bartenders for the evening donated their tips back to MAF, buying an additional TWO chips with their donations! We can’t thank you enough for the role each of you played in meeting this landmark number. It makes us smile to know that in the coming year, we can offer even more of these diagnostic microchips to kids who are fighting for their lives.

Want to see what you missed at Concours?

Be sure to stop by our photo galleries. We are fortunate enough to have several talented photographers who donate their time and services for the event. Here are the links for your viewing pleasure – and if you were there, share the links with your friends and get them inspired to join you next year!
