Every two years, The Morgan Adams Foundation hosts an art show above all other art shows for the Front Range community. If you live in Denver, Boulder of Colorado Springs and have never attended an ARTMA event, we thought we'd put together a primer that will teach you about an unforgettable evening - and one that makes incredible strides to fight the fight against pediatric cancer.
What is ARTMA?
It's such a special event that we've built a website dedicated to the evening and the generous artists who make it possible (visit the ARTMA website). In short, it's a funky and fabulous evening of art auctions complemented by food tastings from local restaurants and a cocktail here and there. Whether you're an avid follower of the art world or just want to mingle in a studio space filled with people you'd love to meet, ARTMA just might be where you want to be on February 11th!
How do the auctions work?
When you walk into the Denver Studio Complex, you'll check in with your tickets (or buy them at the door - but we don't recommend this as we sell out every year!) and you'll be given a catalog of the art pieces and a bid number. Then - it's time to feel the buzz of the most incredible art event you've ever attended!
The studio complex will be filled with silent auction art galleries. You can peruse the art at your leisure and write-in bids using your bid number on pieces you fancy. The silent auction art galleries close at posted times, so you can find out if you've won what you've had your eye on when the gallery is closed off. The ARTMA staff will then deliver the art in the gallery to our team of volunteers, who will treat the art with TLC, wrapping it for transport. When the event is over or when you depart should it be earlier, you can pick up your pieces right where you checked in when you arrived!
The event culminates with a live auction of the most valuable pieces donated to the evening's event. Our auctioneer will guide the audience through piece by piece, and you can bid or watch the live bidding action unfold before your eyes. It's a lively time!
But is the art at the auction affordable?
Indeed. Our artists donate pieces of every shape, size, and scale. We have pieces that will be available for every budget and taste - don't you worry.
What do the proceeds from ARTMA help fund?
The Morgan Adams Foundation is committed to raising money to fund pediatric cancer research. That's what we do - that's ALL we do. The proceeds from the evening - your generosity - will go to helping us fund clinical trials that work towards putting a cure in place so that the children of the future will never have to hear the words, "We just don't have a cure for that right now." You can learn more about the kids affected by MAF's work here.
How do I get tickets?
That's easy! You can buy them online - but act fast. We know many events SAY they sell out every year, but we really do. We've filled the Denver Studio Complex time and time again, and we hope you'll join us on February 11 for an evening you'll never forget benefiting a wonderful cause - and your art collection!
